The following entry was submitted by Brad Mock. He was kind enough to fill out our survey for the blog. Before you read the entry, we felt it was important to give you a little information on how we teamed up with Mr. Mock. When we started TacticalHardware.com a little over a year ago we were on a mission to bring together all the smaller makers of the edc community & showcase their work on our website. Coming across the work of Brad Mock was humbling to say the least. He does this killer grind on his knives that makes it look like the steel is folding over on itself. Wicked SHARP! Brad is not very active in the EDC community, he's not on instagram hashtagging or doing pocket dumps with timascus bottle openers and custom flashlights. He is simply a KNIFE MAKER. To be perfectly honest, one of the best knife makers we have ever met. The fit & finish on his products is next level incredible. The attention to detail is second to none. Now we have to keep in mind that this man does not use a CNC or Waterjet to profile. Hand made, MEANS HAND MADE. A Designer/Machinist by trade Brad takes incredible pride in his work & it really shows in his knives. We are truly honored that he has chosen to work with us & build some awesome knives that we can showcase and put in the hands of collectors.

Tell us how you got into EDC/Knives-
I am very new to EDC so there's not much to tell. I have always liked knives but I couldn't afford the knives I wanted. Because of this I decided to make my own. When I made the decision to make my own I started looking at pictures for inspiration. As I looked I was noticing all of the cool gear in the pictures. While I haven't been able to acquire much in the way of the EDC gear yet, I still get a lot of enjoyment just looking. I hope to start adding pieces soon.
Product Review for Your Favorite Knife-
I have to say my knives are my favorite, right? But beside my own designs, a friend (and great guy) gave me a ZT0566. That's right..gave me! I couldn't believe it. That ZT is with me every single day and I love it. It has an Elmax blade that holds an edge nicely, its easy to sharpen, and the finish still looks great in spite of the abuse. I use my knives and I have been pleasantly surprised how this ZT, despite the use, still looks almost new.

Is there another piece of gear you never leave the house without? (i.e., flashlight, hank, pen, etc)- I have a chainmaille keychain that is always with me. I always carry the heaviest bead I can find on it. Until recently that has been one of my Skull Knocker beads, but I recently acquired some Santi Se beads that I alternate on it. The keys and chain with the heavy bead form a nice little weapon that I can carry anywhere I go.
Favorite Facebook gear group- That's easy...Tactical Hardware. I like several gun and knife groups but for EDC my go to is Tactical Hardware.
